I'm going to head back to the "A" for a 3 day weekend trip in Jan. 2014.

I want to try a barber.

Requirements:

1-Accepts appointments( and keeps them)

2-Has excellent skills with using a razor for the hairline.

3- Very clean shop

Thanks.

I know a good one downtown and a really good one in Fairburn. I use the one in Fairburn though since he's from my Neck of the woods..

Good luck with that. My husband is always complaining about the lack of quality barbers here. He has yet to find one.

I suggest you get prettied up by your current barber before coming to make sure you get the services you want.

My husband did find a good barber in Riverdale but they had a falling out - that barber was a friend of his from Chicago who moved here and set up a shop.

I had male college friends who had issues similar to my husband in finding a decent barber. I had similar issues finding a decent priced, skilled Beautician and never found one after trying for over a year. So I cut off my relaxer and now do my own hair. I used to get my hair done in Detroit and hairdressers there knew how to do some hair without charging nearly double what they wanted to charge here for the same services.

Do black barbers cut hair differently than white or Asian or Hispanic barbers? That's a serious question with no racial undertones - just before some of you get started. I guess I ask because I've never noticed that my barber's ethnic background makes a difference.

I go to Vintage (although I'm white) in the healey building downtown. They are great for both black and white hair. They also can give you a classic shave, so they know their way around a razor.

Maybe I like supporting black service providers.

The issue I have with your post is, you're talking about YOU and what YOU think. This isn't about you.

It's about me and what I want.
