Where's a good place to live if we were relocating to the Atlanta area- my job would be in Tucker, my wife's in the finance industry, so I'd imagine that she'd probably find something in the downtown area. We'd prefer an upscale family oriented neighborhood. Though our kids are grown and we won't have anyone in school, we've always found that homes in good school districts make for the best neighborhoods- so a good school district is important, though not a must. Thanx

I personally love Tucker and down LaVista Rd, all the way to N. Druid Hills and beyond towards Emory. You will find that, for the most part, the homes are gracefully aged with more personality than the newer "planned" neighborhoods. The price range will fit your upscale requirement, although the schools can improve some.
My advice: Take a trip down to Tucker, start your drive from LaVista Rd and drive all the way down towards Emory area. You will more than likely find a community that fits your requirements. |

There are a few fancy neighborhoods in Stone Mountain area(if your budget allows it).I agree go down Lavista Rd.There are some nice older homes in and around Briarlake elementary school area. The North Druid Hills area is also nice with the older homes.I would stay away from Tucker, lived there all my life and I'm glad to be out of there.

the homes in the lavista, N. duid hills, Briarcliff and clairmont are great. I'm an agent and those areas are always in high demand. close to downtown and lots of shopping and restaurants.
