I too may be relocating to Atlanta due to my job possibly relocating me. I'm from New Jersey, directly across the river from New York City so I'm very familiar with bad traffic, diversity, crime, ghettos, projects, gangs, etc. My fiance and I are both in our 30's and currently have no kids. I am trying to identify some of the better neighborhoods for us. We're not into the club scene and do the bar thing once in a while, but prefer a quiet place to get a few good drinks and some late night grub. We have been to Atlanta before and would like to find a nice surburb on the outskirts. We have been to Stone Mountain, Duluth, and Gwinnett. If I do relocate my job would be located in the Buckhead/North Buckhead area. I would prefer to also live on that side of Atlanta to avoid having to cross through the city to commute in hopes I can reduce the amount of traffic I hit. I have been considering Duluth, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Norcross, Roswell, etc. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I have visited Roswell a few times and they have a nice downtown area with a few comfy bars and all. I'm not sure about traffic and everything though.

Start your search in Brookhaven, which is an area that is on the rise with increasing social and living options that are rising in popularity with young professionals.
