Midtown. Great for living that lifestyle but schools suck.

Midtown is zoned for Springdale Park, Inman Middle, and Grady High. None of those schools "suck", and are actually a draw for the area. But, I expect that trying to get a single family home in the area on their budget will be difficult.

If your youngest is in middle school, you have more options if you want to get into the Grady Cluster in the center of the city. Three of the elementary schools that feed into Grady High and Inman Middle are ranked very high, and the prices of those neighborhoods are also very high. But, Centennial Place elm. is more of an average school, and Hope-Hill is generally regarded as poor, but both are also zoned for Grady-Inman, so maybe you can look in the nicer part of those school zones (Old Fourth Ward?, Home Park?) to expand your search on your budget. I am not sure which parts of those areas are most family friendly, but I am sure others here (or a good realtor) could point you in the right direction.

Also consider Sandy Springs/Dunwoody/Brookhaven. These are all diverse areas, but finding a place in the good school districts on that budget would be tough I think.
