Does anyone know what movie they are filming on Auburn Ave. downtown? It is something with crazy car wrecks and dead bodies on the ground. Contemporary though, definitely not Mockingjay.

Not sure, but the Hunger Games is being filmed near Macy's parking lot, and Ritz Carlton. Could be some spill over on Auburn.

Per access atlanta: "Cell," starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, is based on a Stephen King novel about how a virus spread through cell phones brings on the apocalypse. It's filming at Auburn Avenue at Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, right near the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. It looks like the parking lot on Jesse Hill and John Wesley Dobbs Avenue is being used as base camp parking.

Traffic on Auburn Avenue was being stopped intermittently as "Cell" filming was taking place outdoors.

If there are a ton of bodies on the ground then it is probably Hunger Games Mockingjay. The entire book is basically about a civil war.

Not if there were cars. No cars in Mockingjay. Unless they are seriously departing from the book.

Thanks Blessed Diva, it is definitely The Cell. Kind of sad that that stretch of Sweet Auburn looks so naturally post-apocalyptic.
