I was interviewing for grad school in Tuscaloosa, AL and got stuck there for two extra days because I-20 was shut down. I wound up having to go all the way down to Montgomery, AL and back up I-85 to get home. Such a mess. My Mom stayed at the Holiday Inn in Tuscaloosa while I stayed with another student and the cooks didn't show up. The guests wound up invading the kitchen and cooking bacon and eggs for everyone. Will never forget that!

I remember the storm well. For those who play(ed) ALTA, the season was just beginning and my job as a pro shop racket stringer was going hot and heavy preparing equipment for hundreds of customers. I was desperate to get to work, but couldn't even get out of the neighborhood. The shop owners called it a day around opening time...just set us behind at the busiest time of the year. The snow 'drifts' in our neighborhood were about halfway up the sides of many vehicles! What a storm!
