Does anyone know why this gas station in particular is able to sell alcohol 24/7 365?!? Other stores in Atlanta aren't able to sell (for instance) alcohol or beer after 11:45 saturday night until 12:30 pm Sunday afternoon yet the shell gas station at 14th & spring can do so no matter the time or day. Why is that?! Are there any other places in Atlanta to get beer or alcohol anytime regardless of local laws?

The only place I have noticed that had special status was a BP on Cobb Pkwy in Acworth (not sure if it was Kennesaw). They were selling on Sundays prior to it even being legalized.

I wasn't used to the restrictive rules when I moved here and found out while throwing a party that depending on the city, you can't buy alcohol after a certain hour even if the grocery store is open 24 hours on a Friday night. However, in Atlanta proper, I thought aside from Sunday, you could.

I guess some places get grandfathered in to things like drive-thru liquor stores which apparently are illegal here as in no more will be permitted, but I know of three that still exist - one on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs, one off Piedmont or Barrett in Marietta, and another on Terrell Mill in Marietta.

I don't know exactly how they wiggle out of it or if they just ignore the laws, but I have definitely seen some gas stations selling wine and beer well before noon on Sundays.

Why do you drive at least 1 mile over the speed limit?

The speed limit on intown streets should be treated like Lombardy time. If it says 35, you should be going 31 or 32. If the speed limit is 30, you should be driving 26 or 27.

People should err on the side of caution and respect for local residents, not push the limit.
