Hello,
I am looking for a studio or 1 bed apartment that is close to the Marta Train line (walking distance). My main requirements are for it to be safe (quiet neighborhood), clean (no insects) and cheap (less than $650) Any recommendations will help greatly. Thanks! |

that price range might be kinda tough, but you may want to try around the lindbergh area....its safe, but i think you might be looking at a higher rent here.......correct me if im wrong?

No insects? That is funny.$650 and Safe? That is also funny. to try to give you an answer though, it will be difficult if this your budget. Maybe around the Eastlake Marta station or Kensington station, but Safe...i really do not know. ![]() |

I live almost walking distance to Lindbergh and I can tell you, $$$, especially now with all the new development and mixed use shopping.

Try renting a room or a basement near a Marta Station. Try The H.E. Holmes station, The Vine City Station, Lakewood-Ft.McPherson, East Point and College Park Stations along with the ones mentioned on the earlier posts. Those are the only locations where you can find prices in that range close to the Marta in somewhat decent locations. Don't even waste your time looking North of the Five Points Marta Station or the Candler Park or Inman Park Stations on the East Line.

Might be able to find something in Doraville for that. Maybe.

![]() Abax: It can't be done. You'll need to look in the listings for people who need a roommate with a place to share. Unless there's some hidden nugget out there, you're not going to get a 1BR "clean/safe/quiet/walk to MARTA" place - or a studio that fits into all of that most likely, either. If you combine that $650 with someone else's and have $1,300 to play with, then it's entirely possible to get a decent 2BR/2BA small roommate floorplan unit (common) in that range in a decent MARTA area. |

[quote=atlantagreg30127;2168866]They said SAFE, finest. S-A-F-E. The Kum-ba-ya chants can't fix this one. H.E. Holmes station? c'mon now. Really. Get the guy killed why don't ya?
![]() The area around H.E. Holmes has some nice brand new apartments. Greg have you ever been to the neighborhood or is it a blind perception you have? The renting of a room or basement or sectioned off living quarters is very popular in near the Inman Park, Candler Park, East Point or College Park areas. I would try those areas via a serach on craigslist. Hope this helps. |

The basement or room rental in those areas is true. I have known a person to do this and seen others do it too. But I would not recommend anyone to try not familiar and wanting SAFE to rent on the West side Marta stations. (i.e. AE Holmes, Bankhead area, or anywhere close) You would be victimized at some point. ![]() |
