To go along with the rezoning you are talking about I noticed that demographics state that PTC is 86% (or something like that) white. But then many of the schools state that the schools are 65% white or 55%, etc. How can that be if PTC is 86% white? Do I make since? I was wondering if some of the PTC schools serve Fayetteville and PTC. Do you know anything about this since you seem to have done more research than I have?

I think PTC Elementary is actually a really great school. The people who I know who send their children there are really happy there. It does have a more diverse student population which does bring down test scores, but it is a Platinum rated school and I would absolutely send my kids there. Last year my children attended one of the more affluent schools on the north side of PTC and we found the intense academic pressure to be a bit much. I wish my kids had the opportunity to go to PTC Elementary. I'd send my kids there!

From what I have heard from friends that live in peachtree city and surrounding areas the people that dont like peachtree city are the people that cant really afford it. Like one of the posters said, $400,000 will buy you an old house with vinyl floors. Aka a lot of the houses are $1 million plus. Because of this peachtree city is known as a city of yuppies, aka the desperate housewives scenario where everything gossips and worries about how much money everyone else has. For surrounding areas with good schools, in which you can get more for your money, I would recc Newnan or Sharpsburg. For the poster asking why peachtree city is 86% white but the schools aren't. they are starting to get the trickle effect from Clayton county, where a lot of people are moving to Fayetteville, which is already starting to see problems with house values dropping, homelessness increasing, etc. (aside from the economy effects) Fayette county schools are still rated at the top, and hopefully the Clayton county fiasco doesn't change that in the next few years.

This may be a bit off topic but since this happened in Peachtree City I thought I'd post it here. We were in PTC this past weekend and had dinner at a restaurant where men in period military garb (German/Nazi to be exact) walked past us and into the restaurant. There were many other curious onlookers and when asked what that was all about the waiter said there was some sort of re-enactment shindig. Can anyone give me more information?

I tried looking on The Citizen Online but couldn't locate any stories.

Thanks cislga for the link. PTC is still on the list of potential cities we'll be moving to.
