Thanks for the news. Great about the new jobs and particularly great that Tech is considered so worthy!

I feel bad for Gwinnett. The county did quite a bit to lure the company. It's not going to be good for Gwinnett Place or Duluth.

If this ends up happening it will be another nice win for the city.

Just goes to show: Don't try to hand out incentives to select businesses. Try to make your municipality a good place for all businesses.

Wonder if they showed up at Reed's office hat in hand wanting incentives to "bring jobs" to the city. I'm guessing any subsidized leases they signed in Duluth are up and they're off to find new pockets to turn inside out.

Doubt it'll affect GP that much. The place has turned into a Koreatown so an HQ moving might shift a bit of the office lunch crowd (might hit Chipotle) but I doubt that many people live directly in the area.

I don't think being adjacent to GT is all that critical...they'd benefit more than GT would on any association. It doesn't take cutting edge research to sell POSs and ATMs. The salaries they offer are ok if you're starting out (usually median or slightly above for a fresh hire) but you realize pretty quickly its a dead end so unless they're installing revolving doors to give the C students a shot at the edge of campus there's not a big win for the school.

More: NCR eyes Midtown Atlanta for up to 275K sf HQ - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Quote:
NCR wants a location with good visibility from the heavily trafficed Interstate 75-85 connector.
The company is said to have looked at land on either side of the interstate, including near the Centergy building at Technology Square, sources said.

Great move for the perfect market Midtown, but Gwinnett want miss a best, as one day it will pass Fulton as Georgia's most populous county.

Oh wow. Although, I'm not a fan of corporate campuses(awful street level presence), it's good to finally see some businesses going to the CITY of Atlanta and not the SUBURBS of Atlanta.
