except it doesn't cost an extra $30 for a pair of ray-bans, unless of course you're wearing frames without any lenses. a pair of ray-bans would cost you around $450 including lenses.

i have warby parker glasses and i think they're pretty solid. they're the first pair of glasses i've had where i never have to tighten the screws— they have a 5 layer hinge with a secured nut in the bottom:

whereas i've had 'designer' frames that came apart in a matter of weeks or months.

My WP frames replaced a pair of Ray-Bans that were a few years old; the WP glasses feel more solid in every possible way (the acetate frames, anyway). And because they're half what I paid for the Ray-Bans, I was able to get two different pair.

A few stores at BA are suppose to open in 4 weeks. Do you think those stores will open time?

That appears to be the case. Tomorrow's News Today got quite the scoop on the first round of openings (edited for brevity):

According to [OliverMcMillan Regional Marketing Director] Viniard, the following retailers plan to be open on September 18th:

Brunello Cucinelli
Canali
diptyque

theory
Warby Parker

Etro plans to open by the end of September. Southern Gentleman and Le Bilboquet will follow in early October.

This Warby Parker situation sounds so interesting. I just started wearing glasses 9 months ago; so this is great to know! Now my eyes have worsened, and I need a stronger prescription. Since I don't have insurance at the moment, I'm glad to know their prices are reasonable. I LOVE THIS WEBSITE.

just keep in mind, really heavy prescriptions cost extra, because they have to use high-index lenses. the extra charge is $30, but i think they'll let you have thick lenses for the regular price.

Does everyone in town think this project will be successful? I have no doubt that the restaurants will be hugely profitable along with stores like Hermès and Louboutin, but I feel some of the lesser-known designer boutiques might fall by the wayside. If an Atlantan wants it, he or she can typically just go to Neiman Marcus, Saks, or Nordstrom to get it...

LOL, yes!! I've seen 1 too many movies (the last one being 'Something Borrowed') with Shake Shack in the background. Thought I was gonna have to go all the way to NYC to try it, but all I have to do now stop by whenever I come home for a visit. Oh wait, I'm headed to NYC in three days. Never mind....

Well, I've never needed glasses in my life until last year. My initial prescription was a very light one; the doctor said I had a slight stigmatism and sensitivity to light. So when I say worse, it's relative. If you tried on my glasses now, you'd think they were just fashion glasses with little to no prescription.
