GSU has been getting larger, but it has also been getting progressively worse in almost all metrics when it comes to it's student body.

It will never gain prestige if it admits student with below average metrics for the sake of having a larger student body and getting more tuition money.

Sad to say this about my undergrad though.

It's not Romper Room, folks. Stop the bickering and the insults now. Otherwise I'll be more than happy to issue some plane tickets and you can play somewhere else. End of story.

This is what I noticed often here too. Yes, there were some exceptions. I think anyone that did not approximate the amount of generous praise given by the OP was just going to deal with opposition. That is a high bar to match even for those that like the city.

Passion and appreciation for one's city is to be praised. Fanaticism to the point where even a minor issue can't be pointed out in a POLITE manner is taking it way too far. Now if someone is rude or in over the top exaggeration mode, that is a different story and I don't blame the locals. However, many were criticizing with respect and getting rude and disrespectful replies (esp from post #64 and after IMO).

I went back and read several threads a second time and that is the way I view it. Anyone posting here has the right to disagree with me about this of course!

However before anyone attacks or criticizes, I have found this on other city forums as well, not just Atlanta. Then there are other forums where it is handled with a little more class, too. Let's remember there are no cities on city data that are loved by everyone. I have not found one yet. Just recommending some perspective, that's all.

Overall, it is still a good thing that people enjoy their city and that is certainly true in Atlanta. Wish you all well!

Thanks atlantagreg30127. You did the right thing. The bickering and insults went too far. I sincerely apologize to the other posters here for my half of the blame and especially to those who may have read them before you appropriately deleted them. (This is my last post in this thread).

To think.............this all started with someone having an overall positive impression of the city. Leave it to the Atlanta CD posters to take you on a rollercoaster ride of every single possible issue-most of which has nothing to do with the op's observation last time I checked. 400+ comments deep.......guess I got some catching up to do.

There are a few sad members on this site who have a weird mission regarding Atlanta. It must be impossible to find happiness when so much time is spent on negativity.

Agreed! I've left positive reviews for cities I've visited in the past (cause I ask the members of those cities things to do while in their cities-check my posts to see how other cities handle A good review). I have never seen this type of reaction from a positive review. Atlanta "city too busy to hate.".....

I've noticed this about the Atlanta forum as well. This particular thread started out well, but then it quickly went off the rails about five or six pages in, and I left a comment about it several pages later because I was tired of reading all the off-topic bickering back and forth.
