Anyone have any information on the quality of the private schools in the Kennesaw area? We are moving this summer and are having a hard time figuring this out. It seems like all the best private schools are concentrated in a 5 mile radius from Buckhead. We just want to know if there is anything comparable up the 75 corridor thats not an east cobb public school.

Mt. Paran Christian. I don't know anything about it academically but the campus is amazing. My daughter had a music audition there and the music facilities where fantastic.

Is the Walker School an acceptable commute?

We passed the walker school on a visit. Just looked like it was in a very industrial area. I will look further into it. Are you recommending it?

Area is kind of funny -- but I think it is a pretty good school.

Are you interested in religious private schools or ones that aren't or both?

It seems most of the better private schools are independent and not affiliated with any denomination. We are academically focused so that has the most weight. I guess if we had to parade as catholics we could suck it up. lol

I would agree re: Walker being a good choice to check out. Just FYI: most of the "elite" privates are in Buckhead. I can't think of anything up 75 that would qualify unless you wanted to head the opposite direction and look at the Darlington School in Rome.

Cornerstone Prep is a university-model school that is doing some exciting stuff. It kind of splits the difference b/n home schooling and regular school. Pretty interesting when you think your kid could be in school 3 days, and have the other 2 to do research, read, create, practice a sport or instrument. It's in Acworth but draws kids from all over.

Westminster is one of the most(if not the most) desirable schools in Atlanta and it is Christian.

She was asking particularly about schools up 75 near Kennesaw.
