“Phase two will follow, and will last about six to eight months"

They only give an estimate for completion time, and no dates for when that might happen, so I'd assume it isn't going to break ground in 2 months.

Definitely not in May. The bridge is getting replaced. I wouldn't expect anything to happen on that portion of the trail until 2018 at the earliest. Funding has not been secured for that part of the trail, so "whenever" is currently the most accurate prediction.

Does anyone know if the apartment project at Dekalb Avenue and the Eastside Beltline trail has started? I saw some demo, but not sure if that's for the Eastside trail extension construction or land prep for the future apartment development. The demo was on the western side of the site, west of the future trail itself.

According to this Decaturish article, at the last Imagine Memorial meeting Nathan Soldat from ABI stated that "funding has been secured to complete the extension to Memorial Drive, which will be completed approximately 18 months from the beginning of construction."

Probably not, no. That section of the SE trail extension is already well under way.

IIRC, a lot of Atlanta's sidewalks are at the discretion of the property owners, which means it may take a new tenant before they're fixed.

I think the Inman Park Neighborhood Association actually chips in to help defray the cost of sidewalk repairs to homeowners, because it can get expensive. I remember seeing it as a line item in a recent budget. Perhaps doubtful that they'd extend that to a commercial property though.

A boutique hotel is going up right across from Krog where many of the bad sidewalks are. I'm sure they will replace the sidewalks during construction.
