We are zone R-2A single family, large lot. It doesn't matter that they're priests--if a family tried to build this, there's no way it should be permitted either. Yes neighbors have hired a zoning attorney. Yes we will fight it.
And I hope you guys win the fight. Best of luck!

Residents oppose priests

I've never seen a place where residents are more determined to tell other residents what to do with their property and so unwilling to put up $ to buy it.

Of course, this is about turning single family into "multi-family," but it seems really petty to go after priests.
The edited link above should work.

"A lawyer for the Archdiocese of Atlanta is accusing some residents of violating the Fair Housing Act after they complained about plans to create additional housing for as many as six priests at the house on West Wesley Road."

Some of these houses are big enough to have multiple kitchens. The city has already given them a building permit.

And the other lawyer Hakim Hilliard sees zoning violations. Neighbors have no problem with priests, have lived happily next to Bishop Gregory for years--it's the size/scale of the structure and the number of separate apartments. It sets a terrible precedent and isn't right for R-2A.
