Novare Group intends to buy a nearly 1.5-acre site at West Peachtree and 14th streets, near One Atlantic Center and Atlantic Center Plaza, according to several sources familiar with the plan. The property today houses low-rise buildings with tenants such as Einstein Bros. Bagels and Zipcar.

Novare could acquire the land and raze the building by the end of the year.
It plans to build a residential tower in its place.
The company declined to comment.

I'm OK with this. I just wish they would make better parking decks

Einstein's Bagels is putting in a store at 800 peachtree, so they won't be leaving midtown, but I hate losing a close location at 14th.

Glad to see more development in that area. I hope they use the Caroline's space too, frankly.

"Atlanta" just needs to go through a rebranding, and emerge as "FuquaNovare".

That will be a great infill for the area because it's like all the towers that lines up on 14th: (One Atlantic,4 Seasons,1180 and Promenade II and the proposal of 98 14st and this development) will line up by the bridge (beautification bridge project) and making it feel like a big welcoming to midtown.

Blech, just what we need....more Novare.

I hope these guys finally start building decent condos without those ridiculous 3/4 walls.

I think they shifted away from a lot of those as they have progressed. Metropolis was all 3/4 walls, Spire was as well but Viewpoint cut back to maybe 1/2 (except for those 1bdr+den units). Even in the Skyhouses if you look at the floorplans the 1BDRs have doors.

I'm hoping they realize they've saturated the market w/ Skyhouses and build an actual unique building. Maybe a better Atlantic although I'm wondering if they'll take that as a history lesson on not overshooting the market.
