I thought this was an interesting and inspiring read. It's sort of an unofficial/unscientific case study of the effectiveness of Brand Atlanta (the folks responsible for "Every Day is an Opening Day," etc.) compared to the power of indivduals with passion and drive.

Falling in Love with Atlanta

This is great. The thing about this that I get from it is that in order to love Atlanta, you need to get out in it. A lot people I know say that Atlanta has nothing to offer or that nothing ever happens in Atlanta. The correct statement for them would be that nothing ever happens in their parents' basement where they still live at the age of 31...

Want to love Atlanta? Go and adventure.

So true - anyone that I know that does not like Atlanta moved immediately to the suburb and never left. Nothing wrong with suburban living but if you never leave it than how do you "know" Atlanta?

Exactly. If 90% of my existence involved going from an office to a cul-de-sac to a shopping center and not much else, I'd hate it hear too. Of course, this type of experience can be had anywhere.

Well...90% of my time IS going from office to cul-de-sac to shopping center. But that other 10% is the reason why I love Atlanta. It refreshes me so that I can do the 90%.
