What's a lawn? I live in the backwoods. Vegetable gardens are so much better than lawns. Lawns add nothing of value and often tend to be mandated by an HOA. No thanks.

This fellow flat has one nice looking lawn, although he's getting some bare spots out beyond the tennis court.

For being 18,000 square feet, this home does not look very imposing, like many super gigantic mansions do. It looks inviting.

However, I've never really understood building these gigantic houses so far away. This one isn't exceptionally bad, but I've seen some massive estates out in the middle of nowhere. Your resale will be nearly impossible.

That fellow doesn't get out there and do yard work. He hires some 'bad hombres' to take care of that, so he can go to UGA games Saturday.

My wife and I are GenXers. Call me lazy if you'd like, but we simply pay a lawn service to come out every couple of weeks. I mowed lawns as a teen/young adult, which is part of why I do not wish to do so at this time.

Honestly, I'm a black thumb (I kill any plant I touch) and I have better things to spend my time on than the lawn. So I finally gavee in after the baby came along, and I pay a lawn service for now. But I see the purpose of a lawn being "keep the dirt from washing away", rather than something ornamental. I'd be happy with a desert-style rock garden.

But I don't want to live in the middle of a city, either. That's too far from anywhere I'd be working, too many people around, and small airports don't generally exist in larger cities.

Tres nouveau. And exactly how did Monticello inspire THAT?
