Work with what ya got. Cobb didn't want to join MARTA so it created its own system. Deal with it.

Right, Cobb should just do a BRT that is 5 times as expensive and would get even less local funding than as the downtown streetcar...

"Why the Heck doesn't MARTA Rail go Northwest (Cobb County)"

because Cobb made sure to "stop Atlanta at the river"

That's mighty dismissive. Sooner or later, something needs to change.

CCT already does a pretty crappy job, so sure, let them set up their system and fail miserably. It doesn't do anything positive for the metro as a whole though.

Pretty much sums up what Cobb Citizens want. Good luck with your crappy CCT system. Won't even take me to KSU.

gtcornydog is not a troll, she's just someone who wants to engage in constructive conversation but does not know how, so she instead acts out with goofy comments and antics to get a little bit of attention to stroke her always-insecure ego.

gtcornydog is just an attention-starved comedienne that is playing her role as comedic relief for the Atlanta forum.

When gtcornydog wants to engage in and play a constructive role in this conversation, she will, but until then, at least she's here just for laughs.

Sorry, Atlanta, you can't be a cosmopolitan city when you have these types of attitudes so prevalent in the metro that they essentially dominated the region. Yeah, cities like SF, D.C., and NYC will have a few people like this, but there aren't enough of them where their attitudes also controls the dynamics and politics of the region.

Seriously, Atlanta could have had a transit rail system the size of D.C.'s if it kept building out. Quite possibly a world class system. So sad to see what Atlanta could have been.

The liberals of Atlanta don't see it, but conservatives truly dominate the region and it has unfortunately hurt Atlanta big time over the past 2 decades as far as being world class.
Well said. Atlanta is however experiencing a resurgence back to it's core, so I'll stay optomistic.

Cobb would likely be open to rail transit if someone can make a compelling case as to exactly how it is going to (a) save them money and time and (b) make their lives better.

We can sit here and holler that they are a bunch of racist or classist snobs, but that's just plain common sense.
