OK... you just described the Dunwoody area. PLENTY of food to try, shopping and outdoor space. Eh, I'm a little surprised that your friend nixed a Dunwoody to Norcross commute.

Edit: Check out http://www.georgia-navigator.com/maps/atlanta around rush hour. That way you can see what traffic patterns look like.

Duluth 30096 - Breckinridge Station subdivision - Dilcrest Dr or Creston Dr

Duluth 30097 - Avonlea on the River subdivision - State Bridge Rd

Norcross 30092 - subdivision??? - Murphy Joy Lane NW

Norcross 30092 - Peachtree Corners area? - Hidden Cove Circle NW

Thanks in advance for your input.

Default More Possibilities....

Okay, so I talked to another person I know from the area....she's lived in Duluth (30097 zip) for 10 years and likes it very much. She is from South Florida originally, so we have similar backgrounds. Anyway, her opinion was that Duluth or the Peachtree Corners area of Norcross are good choices....especially considering where my soon-to-be office is located. So with that, here are some more townhouse rentals I found. Your input will be appreciated. Please comment!

All Duluth zip 30096 - Regency Park subdivision - Regency Park Dr NW
- Howell Park subdivision - Howell Park Dr
- Berkeley Crossing subdivision - Berkeley Crossing Dr??
- Breckinridge subdivision - Durwood Lane

Later....ink!

I agree, CPD is good for condos. However, if you could also live in Dunwoody and you won't even have to get on the freeway. Price is not a thing you should be concerned about in Atlanta, since it's pretty cheap here, just keep common sense when it comes crime.

1. This is a quiet location near Lawrenceville Highway with nothing around it.
You are south of the 85 freeway and it should be an easy commute. This is the best location for traffic. If you master the back roads like Harbins,Dickens,Burns and Williams you can disregard the traffic jams that are part of daily life in suburban Atlanta. Not really close to any convenient mall shopping or top restaurants. It is convenient for daily errands like Walgreens,Kroger or the post office. It is closet to my favorite store in the Atlanta area, the DeKalb Farmers Market. I like this location. Probably 90% of people would not like this location.

2. A very short drive to your work location on 1 straight road with some traffic. A very convenient location near a great Publix, many restaurants and convenient to both Gwinnett Place Mall & Discover Mills(with Jillians!). Also close to Dave & Busters. Very close to the 85 so beware of freeway noise.

3. Without a doubt the nicest and most upscale location. Walkable to Whole Foods and Publix. Across the street from Target and Home Depot. Near many good restaurants off Hwy 141. The place to pick if you work at home. Unfortunately the only way to get to your work location from here is Pleasant Hill Dr. to Steve Reynolds. Traffic Nightmare, especially in the pm commute. Forget about it or do not sign a lease unless you try the commute at rush hour.

4. This is in a small culdesac off a frontage road of a main highway. I do not like this location. Mostly a reverse commute. Closest to Buckhead and other areas of Atlanta.

5. In a complex behind a strip mall off Jimmy Carter Blvd, near highway 141. The area of Peachtree Corners that is most desirable is by Spalding Dr.,not here.

6. Howell Park subdivision. Very close to a Super Walmart and Super H. Tons of traffic but convenient. Not too far a commute but on the wrong side of the freeway for you.

7.Berkeley Crossing subdivision. Right next to an elementary school and school bus traffic. Close to Dave and Busters. Not too bad a commute except for the elementary school traffic. You are close to work and will cross the freeway at Steve Reynolds.

8.Breckinridge subdivision - Durwood Lane, Same comments as #2. If you like the complex this is a great location.
