Have you considered Wilmington, North Carolina? The film industry is huge there.

Yeah, that's one of my thoughts, too. However, filmmaking isn't the only reason for my move -- if it was, LA or NYC would be my only choices, really. I'm looking for a place where it can be possible for me to have the kind of life I want to live, regardless if making movies where a career or a hobby. Wilmington is nice, but other parts of NC might suit me better overall. ATL has a huge draw due to it's huge music scene and the fact that right now, I mainly shoot music videos for local artists.
