Default Career Change

I was recently laid off from a Fortune 500 Company and that was wonderful for me. I would love to start a new career in education and/or counseling. I love helping people overcome social and emotional problems. First, I love ministering the Word Of God. The positions I find that are most rewarding are requiring years of experience, which I do not have. I would like for someone to tell me how I can receive experience or training without someone giving me an opportunity? God Bless

You start with a lower position and work your way up- just like anything else. Are there any entry-level type positions in the particular line of counseling/education you're looking to focus on?

Look for a not-for-profit organization that might not be so stringent about experience. Or, take a job that isn't really what you are looking for while you are volunteering with some agencies to gain experience.

You can even get in touch with your local church on this aspect. As many churches have counselors or need one. They can guide you through as they organize many youth centered programs, they would know more. I believe that you would good with the word of God, so you can easily start off with any Christian organization. Peace.
