Angry Corrupt Homeowner Associations

Hi everyone,

I live in Cobb County, Marietta under a homeowner's association who picks and chooses what they want to uphold from the by-laws, allow whomever to not pay their dues and/or assesment fees.

They also have allowed one of the residents who violates many of their by-laws harrass me and won't even talk to the resident.

Are there any sources here in Georgia or Cobb County that I can contact to hold these people accountable and to get them off of my back?

I pay my dues, keep my place clean and painted, and don't mess with anyone, but somehow they let this resident throw things in my yard and harrass me.

I appreciate your advice,

If someone is throwing things in your yard and truly harassing you, forget the HOA- either confront them directly or get the police involved.

I've been on the board of my HOA. They have a legal right to enforce the written by-laws of your neighborhood, but that's it. If someone is harassing you, they cannot call the police for you.

I understand your frustration about the lack of help from the police. Just keep making your reports. One day this person may answer the door. If the situation escalates, there will be a history of complaints from you, which may come in handy in court.

Get the video tape rolling. Catch these scumbags in the act. If the police won't act, you act then put this bad apple on youtube.

Lawyers can be extremely helpful in situations like this So can persistence.

Use both. Keep us posted, I'm curious to see your outcome.

Can a HOA deny you the right to board minutes, general minutes and what homeowners are able to vote?

Ok, since there is another thread (newer) by the same OP here: Homeowner Associations (HOAs) from hell I'm closing this thread, as we don't need two going on.

Thank you.
