Smile Gilmer County/Ellijay alternatives

Many new arrivals to the Atlanta metro complex are considering more rual areas North of Atlanta. In my gated community, we have a large number of residents that live in Gilmer\Ellijay and commute to work in Atlanta and the general area near Town Center Mall. The area near I-575 and continueing toward North toward Blueridge and Blairsville up 4 lane Highway 515 has appeal to those that want to be close to Atlanta but not the Atlanta traffic.
Recently, the home market has been "soft" and some outstanding homes are being aquired at large reductions.
