Default Move to the A-town?

Considering moving to Atlanta. Can I find a decent 1 or 2 bedroom in Midtown area for $1,200 a month?

Do not care to live in any other area of Atlanta (except intown neighborhoods) very close to downtown & midtown.

THANKS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Yeah, for $1200 you can find a good studio or 1BR in the Midtown area. MAYBE a small 2BR if you're not right on the Peachtree Road main area.

Downtown is doable as well, but really, Midtown is a better option. You have more access to a couple of grocery stores and attractions (Piedmont Park, etc) in the Midtown area. Downtown has more of a problem with vagrants than Midtown, and Midtown is a more walkable area.

I would not care to live Downtown and not even in Buckhead. Buckhead is nice, but I am not a Buckhead kinda person. Like the Midtown area. Seems to have everything you need within like a 3 mile area of Midtown (including Downtown & Buckhead).

Look on Craigslist.com and check under rentals by owner. Also, if you have the chance to come down for the weekend, your best bet is to drive around the areas you are interested in and see if there are any signs posted outside. Lots of midtown houses have apartments for rent underneath so it's more of a grassroots effort to rent them out.

sweettea1,

LOVE your screen name and you are right. I am coming down in the next 3-4 weeks for a long weekend. Will drive thru areas between Peachtree St & Piedmont Park.

Have been to Atlanta many many times, just unsure of a move?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
