Anybody know anything about Post Collier Hills Apartments located a Collier Rd NW & Northside Drive?
Is that an OK area? Noticed it is only about 1 1/2 miles west of Peachtree St. not far from Piedmont Hospital. Seems like a convenient area! |

It's great if you don't mind waiting 20 minutes to get out of the complex every morning- Collier Road gets very jammed up, and god forbid if you want to make a left out of the lot....lol.

But what about the immediate area? Is it a relatively safe area? Would you live in their?
THANKS! |

It's safe enough, plus you're close to two major interstates and midtown & downtown Atlanta. There are lots of really nice established neighborhoods in that area - I lived not too far from that intersection at one time. Safe is as safe does. It all depends on your experience and outlook. I lived in a really "safe" neighborhood and was broken into twice, so you never know. I don't know that particular complex - is it gated?

Post Collier Hills. Not sure if it is gated or not!

It's gated. There are two exits, one onto collier, and one onto that side road that dumps out behind the Willy's and Mac's. The area is about as uber safe as you'll find in the west part of midtown. I lived for almost seven years within a mile or two of that area as a college student and then post graduation. One thing though - you pay for the Post name, not sure why - those apartments are no more better than others - though the pool is nice in the summer, and the crowd is young. Having visitors is a huge pain in the ass though; on a Friday night the cars line up back onto collier while people wait to call their friends to let them in. |

Thanks, I use to live in a Post Aparment here in Charlotte and it has a gated parking deck and was a pain sometimes when people in front of you were visitors and could not get in and youhad to wait. Overall was very satisfied living in a Post community.

.There are a couple of bicycle rides out of the Fox & Hounds Pub on Collier...starts out in that rather 'rustic' area and then goes through neighborhoods of multi-million$ homes and 'landscape bills larger than most folks' house note'. Take a left instead of a right(that is, toward ATL) on Defoors and you travel through an industrial section complete with water processing plant and brand new loft developments--quite a contrast. I've lived in a couple of Post complexes...in the past, once the complex got too old or run-down, Post would sell off the property and move on. Not sure if that is still the case. Much of what you pay for the 'Post' name used to go to landscaping--since we don't have water anymore, that may also change . |
