Music Midtown will draw roughly 15 times more people than can fit inside Chastain Amphitheater. Chastain has strict noise ordinances limit both volume level and end time. The people coming to Chastain for an Eric Clapton show, or to watch Il Divo, or see Sara McLaughlin are not the same people going to MM, pounding 13 beers, then pissing on someone's hostas on the walk back to MARTA. The two are not even remotely comparable.

Sure there is. MNA cites trraffic as one of their primary concerns. Chastain suffers traffic log-jams before and after concerts, so it's a direct parallel.

They are ok with traffic from new apartments, new restaurants, new jobs etc but they cry about traffic from MM smh

So it's OK to turn the park into a mudfield because somebody will come along and 'fix' it? What does that even mean? Throw some seed on the mud and wait for the grass to grow back? Throw sod on it and hope for the best? Would that be OK if it were your lawn?
I guess it's hard for some of the people on here to appreciate the frustration of those who dedicated a great deal of time and energy into overseeing the restoration and renourishment of the park's common areas. It was no small effort for them.

Maybe not, but you know what is comparable? The way some of these young folks behave at festivals like this and the way boomers used to behave when they went to concerts. Ever seen a film of any of the '60s or '70s music festivals? Boomers set the example these young folks are following. They had their fun, but now they want to scold younger generations for behaving exactly as they once did.

I'm not asserting that. What I am asserting is that Piedmont Park is an inappropriate venue for it. It ain't no Yasgur's Farm, after all.

Friends of mine on 9th Street had this happen to them all the time during PP music events. Calling a tow truck seldom helped; they were so backlogged with illegally parked cars that the car was usually gone before the tow got there.
They finally moved to Johns Creek.
