He believes all mass transit money not spent on roads should be spent on buses which he believes are infinitely more efficient and cost effective. I had to rely on buses as my only mode of transport for years when I was a student in a couple of Ohio metros. Trust me when I say I would much much prefer money be spent on HRT or light rail with dedicated lines. Buses may be much cheaper but they have a huge problem in that they get stuck in the same traffic that cars get stuck in only worse because they have to make so many stops. They are the slowest way to possibly go.

And most people agree with this which is why the CCT buses in and out of the city everyday are halfway empty.

I don't need you to try to speak for me.

If you are going to spend $100 million on a streetcar that rides in traffic, you could get the same result spending $5 million on a bus.

I didn't say this was the case for every scenario.

So unlimited tax dollars for buses and roads, but zero tax dollars for rail then GT?

The 30-60 minute headways, don't help either.

I'm not going to make a blanket statement. Each situation is different, but I'm not in favor of spending $100 million when there is an equally viable $5 million solution.

That is just common sense.

They wish they had 30-60 minute headways, many routes are 2 hours. Even the local routes.

I think it could handle the proposed phase 1 expansion to bankhead and the eastside trail.

And would be even more packed if they actually covered a larger area of the city. People just do not want to ride buses.
