For $5K/mo, I'd have to put my foot down and there would have to be a house involved. Also, I'd have to re-marry.

5K sounds like rent in Manhattan.

This is hilarious, why not pay 5k a month and live in a "real" city rather than an manufacturer community.

Of course I wouldn't. I have no reason to complain. I think landlords should be able to charge what the market will bear. The more the better I tend to think. What's the big deal about 5k a month? Just because some folks cannot afford that amount doesn't give any legitimacy to their jealous complaints about the folks who can. Envy is ugly.

i don't think it's a jealousy thing. it's more of a WTF thing.

you can't tell me you're not just blown away by the fact that someone is paying over 5 grand a month for an apartment *anywhere* in the metro area, let alone a new shopping center in alpharetta.

i live like a mile down the road. for our property values, this is great. at this rate moving out of this boring suburb will net me a fortune.

but on the same token, i can't help thinking that someone is a fool for paying that much.

It's obviously a mistake or some kind of publicity stunt.

I concur. $5K rent is ridiculous for a 1,700 square feet apartment with no room service, housekeeping or concierge. A 1,700 sf apartment at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead just rented for $7,500 a month.

Folks, why do any of you care what someone else is willing to pay? I just don't get it.

Hahahahahha. If I wanted to spend $5k for live-work-play I'd just live in Manhattan, thanks.
