A friendly warning for those of you who like to park-and-ride at North Springs: The deck has been full on several occasions as of late. If you came in from 400 and are unable to find a spot, that means you'll have to exit 400 northbound--the paper ticket only lets you out that way, not to surface streets--go all the way up to Northridge, make a U-turn through an interchange that's currently under construction, and go all the way back down 400 again. Not good.

For those of you who like taking the train to the airport, there's an extra incentive to park at Sandy Springs instead: North Springs charges $8/day for long-term parking, whereas Sandy Springs only charges $5/day.

Sounds like more stations north the current terminus are in demand!

Yes. North Fulton wants MARTA rail service.

On days like that, MARTA should suspend the "no surface street" nonsense so people can make it to Sandy Springs without undue delay. Actually they should just get rid of that, all it does is inconvenience everyone for a handful of people who might use it as a cut-through, but there are ways around that too!

Although it might be cheaper just to build a bigger parking deck.

Are you sure about that? I know that the business community wants it but I think you might have trouble getting the general public on board for MARTA expansion through Alpharetta. Given how much traction the proposal for North Fulton to outright secede from the rest of the county a few years ago got I don't think it's a stretch to imagine MARTA expansion up there being rejected on the basis of trumped-up fears of crime and corrupt, inefficient management. Also, it would cost a lot of money, and I don't think there's much appetite for higher sales taxes right now in North Fulton.

I am sure that is per the neighbors, so the side streets do not turn into a cut thru for the freeway.

Well, except for that whole "North Fulton has been paying the MARTA sales tax since 1971" thing.

Let's not forgot those from other counties using Marta also. At the Dorvaille station you see many Gwinnett tags. I think it should be a surcharge for those outside of Fulton and Dekalb counties who uses Marta.
