The DC area is the wealthiest region in America. I think there is no comparison especially when it comes to rich Europeans and foreigners who add to the wealth there.

IF (big if) they give any to charity at all. The rich, that is. Remember there are ways to pass money down pretty much sheltered from taxes even after death.... Hiltons, Vanderbilts, etc. anyone?

A good economy is one where capital flows. By easing the pressure on the middle class and helping the middle class be more upwardly mobile, that could in fact happen.

Philanthropy is also generally a way, from a sociological perspective, for the rich to legitimize their wealth. That may not be the individual reason, but it is the social underpinning.

Hopefully, bitcoin/scriptcoin and crowd-funding will create a new kind of capital dstribution long-term, since the fed and government have been less than helpful in getting money into the hands of those that really could do wonders with it.

Who cares if you can't stand him, to go from being homeless too now having a net work of 400 million, he is on a path to be a billionaire one day. That's my point, and not whether you like him personally or not. That's why I love data and technology, it simply has no prejudices, but simply states what is.

Another incredibly naive anti-capitalist screed. Who do you suggest be responsible for stewardship of this money? The government? Yeah, that'll work.

Yep, I noticed that too. There's nothing more hilarious than seeing poor white trash vote against their own economic interests because they think they're better people than democrats. And by hilarious, I mean ridiculous and misguided.

And Marlo Hampton was sleeping with one, and according to Sheree, he still wouldn't buy her a house.
