Looks like the prob with that beltine project is the zoning never changed. So looks like the #1 thing is getting that zoning changed or its fair game to anyone.

There are threads on this, but: The city passed the "Beltline Zoning Overlay" that was intended to over-ride the existing zoning. However it ended up not holding up in court. At least the city is now trying to proactively rezoning each of the properties one by one to prevent this from happening again, but it is a huge undertaking.

Agreed! The sad thing is that this guy stays in business. And he keeps throwing the same half urban half suburban junk out there on prime locations. The only development that I can remember that looked pretty good was the Morningside Heights project on Piedmont.

Worrying Aloud About Traffic In Face Of Fuqua Project - Development Du Jour - Curbed Atlanta

Something has to be done to prevent these kinds of proposals.
