I showed the driver my receipt on my phone though so it was no problem, but by the time I found it, I was almost at my destination. I thought it was some sort of error with my Breezecard, but it never in a million years would have occurred to me that it was actually designed to work that way. Now, that is a true usability issue.
If you ever have an issue with a breezecard, I have found tapping it at a fare machine will help.

The card was fine after I tapped it at the train station, but I was taking a bus to the train so it just didn't work. The bus driver must have seen the problem before because he told me to always get a receipt; I got the impression it may happen quite a bit with online card loading.

Yes, that is the solution. However, it's pretty useless when you are taking the bus for the first leg of the journey. I'd assume that's why most people would load the cards online, they will be taking the bus so don't have access to a fare machine.

Hopefully it'll get integrated into the existing app in some way. I understand that it's separate from the MARTA on the go app since other agencies use the breeze system, but we really should have a consolidated transit app.

Here's an idea: ATLTransit / ARC creates a Metro Atlanta transit app that incorporates the Breeze card and all the real-time info from all the other transit systems. Just take the MARTA on the go app's format, and extend it to GCT / CCT / GRTA / Streetcar / etc.

I can see it integrating with Atlanta Streetcar, as Breeze already does that, but the other agencies would have to spend money to install the infrastructure and they traditionally cheap on transit spending. I mean CCT and GCT don't even have live arrival apps and GRTA just rolled theirs out, myXpress App | Xpress

I don't mean they have to integrate the mobile fare structure, though that would be nice. Rather, I mean that MARTA, CCT, GCT, GRTA, and the Streetcar should be joined in one integrated app that follows the structure of MARTA's MARTA-On-The-Go app.

That is, it should show bus stops near you, the schedules for all the routes, next arrival time, real time location, allow you to favorite routes, stations/stops, and such.

Integrated in that should be the breeze mobile fare system for where you can use it.

The issue is the different agencies. For example, if you have a monthly pass for MARTA, and you start a trip on CCT, you have to pay $2.50 on the bus, even though you bought a monthly pass. Also, CCT does not have real time data sharing.

Yeah, I saw that CCT and GCT don't have real-time, but they could integrate the scheduled arrivals and 'stops near me' aspects. That issue between MARTA and CCT should probably be fixed. It'd be cool if you could have 'accounts' on the cards, so that you could load various amounts into the different agencies (or you could lump all the money together if you wanted) so that it would only take money once you used a specific system.

The agencies are not willing to work together, I mean you honestly expect Cobb County DOT to work with MARTA? This is why we need only 1 regional transit agency, MARTA should be allowed to do what it was setup by the state in the 60's to do. Forget all this racial issues, we need an integrated transit agency and I don't mean GRTA. It's just a puppet of the governor, GDOT, and SRTA.
