Grayson area, utilities and questions
Hello,
I'm new to the Grayson area and wanted to know a few things.
I have WaltonEMC as my electric provider ( they are the only one that services my area ). Which left me no option to see if they were cheaper then any other providers in the area.
I would like to know what home security is "best quality" for the money..can be cheap, if the service is really well.
Cable/Sat - what do people have. I have seen alot of good deals with Directtv but I need internet and don't really want internet thru satellite or DSL over phone line. But what can I expect to pay ( thru either choices ) and what have been your ( for those this applies to ) experiences?
On a different note, who has gone to Oasis ( I believe that's what it's called )? And what parks are in the area for running/bike riding?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

EMC Security which is done by Walton EMC is pretty good and reasonable plus its all on one bill.
We have Directv here. For Dsl, you can expect to pay from $19.99 (for 768) -$44.95 for (6mb)
Have no idea on the last question...

Thanks.....I've actually had WaltonEMC security out to my place since they needed to come out to give me a quote. I wasn't sure if i was going to get a landline phone at the time and still not sure.
I believe Cable internet is faster then DSL and to get DSL to come close to cables speed is just not cost effective. If i'm wrong I would gladly like to know.
As for as Oasis, i think it's a bowling alley, just wondered if anyone has been?

Cable is faster but more expensive. In our case, if I had went with Comcast (which wasn't available in our neighborhood when we moved in), since we have video from Directv, our internet alone would be $54.99 (not sure if its higher these days). Right now, I'm paying $37.95 with my $5 discount for DSL xtreme 6.0. Its fast but not as fast as cable (I think comcast get over 10+ now) but its get the job done for me. If anything, I'm waiting for FIOS to make it into the atlanta market.
I have never been but i'm in Northern Rockdale county...Just a a bit south of you.....

So 37.95 plus your directtv bill correct? And that total cost is still less then Comcast? I know I have seen the 99 for so many months, which includes tv,phone and internet. Some people have been able to get this deal from 75 which would be very good if I could pull it off.
Oh,ok thanks for replying

Oasis is a bowling alley, just recently opened. It's nice.
As far as running and biking, depends on how far you want to go and what types of riding and running you like. The best park nearby is Tribble Mill. It has a 3 mile paved multi use trail and about 12 miles of dirt trails for mountain biking, running and hiking. It is also open to Equestrians. There is also Bay Creek Park right off cooper rd by hwy 20. It has a 1.15 mile paved loop that is level. If you want to go further there are a lot more parks.

Correct. Our Directv bill is bout $57 a month (we have a $10 discount thanks to Bellsouth). We have 2 dvr's and one regular box plus the package which includes everything except the premiums.
I guess it depends on your needs....
