I currently live in louisiana, and I've decided that I want to relocate to Atlanta, GA. I've been wanting to move since I was a little kid, and now that I am 26 I would love to get up off my tail and move. Ppl that I know how told me to look at Midtown and Downtown Atlanta (but I've heard those are very expensive because it's in the heart of the city). I'd love to stay in Atlanta, but if I can't stay inside of Atlanta I'd like to live as close to Atlanta as I can possibly get. So can someone please give me some good places that aren't bad areas and that are close to or in Atlanta. I've also heard about East Point, but isn't that like a very hood area in Atlanta or something? If I can find a decent area in East Point I wouldn't mind East Point though.

Don't limit yourself to an area of Atlanta - there are great places all over. Find a job then look for an area with a reasonable commute.

Price range? Looks like you need affordable, I suggest, NW Atlanta somewhere along James Jackson Pkwy, Mableton, Austell, S. Marietta, Smyrna may be your best bet though.

Someone that I know who stays in Atlanta direct messaged this to me. When asking about West End, East Point, Decatur, & College Park. "Hunny all those places are HOOD and BLACK as hell! I don't live in areas that aren't Diverse"!
So I'm guessing those are horrible areas to live in? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You have some very ignorant people on this forum who will act like they know first haqnd about a place but only go by what they heard without even steeping foot in a place.

Gogle Downtown Decatur and click on the images and tell me if you think it looks "hood or "too black".
Truth is some people have no problem living in a majority white area but if its too black(no matter how nice)they still have a problem with it.
Downtown East Point and College Park is the same..Nice older neighborhoods with nice homes. Not as diverse as Decatur but not all black or white nor is it all hood.

There are neighborhoods in those cities that are poorer and not as diverse and that is what most people are referring too.
Decatur is ver diverse.
