Great idea with the College Football Hall of Fame now being in Atlanta. For those of you who are unaware, FSU and Alabama are huge football schools. This will bring in a lot of money to Atlanta and capitalize on the expensive azz stadium/CFHF.

I would find it hard to believe anyone here doesn't know FSU and Alabama in terms of football.

And having a football game in Atlanta because of the CFHF? Don't get it. Seems like loss of revenue for Tuscaloosa or Tallahassee.

Atlanta and Georgia is a recruiting hotbed. Takes a lot to get kids to leave home for a different state. Neutral site games are nothing new. Chick Fil A kickoff game. Southwest Classic helps Arkansas reach out to DFW and Texas. One game won't kill Tallahassee or Tuscaloosa. The programs still benefit. Atlanta benefits. Still 6-8 home games. Big out of conference match up. TV viewers win. I don't know if the CFHF has anything to do with it, but it makes sense.

Those special neutral site games also have payouts. Won't kill Tallahassee or Tuscaloosa, but I'm sure local businesses will miss that revenue they probably count on.

True. Local businesses in College Station loved a year ago when A&M had 8 home games. Each game weekend is a huge deal for business. The neutral game may or may not take away a home game, but with a FCS team, the weekend just isn't as big a draw for fans' money.

This will be great to bring in the new stadium.

Still hoping they do a MLS game as the first game in the new stadium as previously hinted at.

Sure, but neither of these teams are willing to do a true home and home. The neutral site works for both teams, because the count as road games, and they only have to play once. Alabama and FSU will probably still have 7-8 home games, so essentially both teams make money to travel.

Nothing says Atlanta like awful, poor quality soccer.

Alabama has been playing its first game in Atlanta for several years now. Why is this now just catching your attentions?

Generally teams schedule neutral-field games on years when the rest of their schedule is home-heavy. Alabama started this year with a neutral field game (here in Atlanta, once again), but has 7 home games in addition.

Alabama/FSU would be a huge matchup for a neutral site home game. One of the biggest ever, depending on whether FSU can keep wind in its sails for the next few years.
