Homes built in Atlanta post 1995......all brick or brick fronts? (house, neighborhood)

Looking at some of the homes online, seems like a lot of the homes built within the last 20 years are brick fronts in stead of a all "4 walls" being brick.

I've never owned a home so I'm wondering if all brick will cost more than a brick front?

Depends on location. The brick front homes were a little less to build. It was also a fad, that is still going on.

What do you mean the homes façade facing the street, or do you mean brick veneer as opposed to whole brick?

Most of the standard mid-level and below subdivision homes are brick veneer - not really full brick, when you are talking about 90's homes. Because it's cheaper. If you mean Brick façade - then that seemed to be a 90's style choice. And probably also cost less.

My brother's neighborhood is late '90s and most of the homes are brick on the front and sides, and siding on the back.

I'v seen that too. Even worse. Why wouldn't you just go ahead and finish it?

There is 4-sided brick, 3-sided brick, and brick front.

There may be such a thing as 2-sided brick, but I've never heard of it.

Usually the more brick, the more expensive. Frankly, I've never understood it too much as I had no idea masons and bricks were so expensive. I'd gladly pay a bit extra for more brick because it looks better and you don't have to paint it. I also think it looks really stupid to have nice brick on 3 sides and then cheap out with ugly siding on the back.

4-sided brick will always be in style.

Builders started charging big premiums sometimes in the 1990's to add anything but the front. My parent's house built in the late 1980's was 3 sides brick, but the house they built in 1999 is only front-brick. I believe to make it 3 sides brick was something outrageous like 15 or 20K.
