FYI...

The South Downtown MARTA Stations Makeover project team is working to transform the appearance and experience of the Five Points and Garnett station areas – generally the station and a one-block radius.
The design ideas proposed by the project team are the result of team's assessment of the station, research and review of best practices and community outreach and involvement, including a broad range of stakeholders – adjacent property and business owners, local residents, government/institutional partners, transit riders, etc.

Please use the link(s) below to provide feedback to the project team specific to the South Downtown MARTA Stations – Five Points Station and Garnett Station. Please provide feedback for each station for which you are familiar. www.surveymonkey.com/s/MARTAmakeoverfeedback

I am not all that familiar with the MARTA train stations. I find Five Points a bit confusing, but I'd expect that considering how many things are hooking up there.

However, I specifically do not like the Garnett station. I got off there to go to traffic court and I flat felt unsafe. It has nothing to do with the jail, strip club, homeless shelter, or anything like that. Everything about the platform feels like a complete falling hazard. It's so small and high up in the air that if a good wind blew, I thought I might fall to my demise be it down the stairs or on the tracks.

I am a big fan of natural lighting, but given how close it goes from windows to nothing but thin air, I think you need to cover the sides up with curtains if need be and artificial light it up. I almost had a panic attack, and it had nothing to do with how one man was eyeing my ring. I felt trapped with little means of egress.

Also, it could use some additional signage. If I had to give two older ladies directions to the Greyhound which was right down the steps, then something about how to get where you are going is not clear. And honestly, had I not just passed by it, I could not have told them a thing about how to get there.

I disliked the Garnett Station so much that I would rather just get off at Five Points and walk the rest of the way if I ever have to go to traffic court again.
