The demand for talent in Georgia is so great, many behind-the-scenes jobs go unfilled, causing producers to send for help in California, industry insiders have said.

“There’s so much production here,” said Suzanne Geiger, unit production manager for the FOX television show, ‘Red Band Society.’” “And this is a town with a certain number of good crews, and there are way more shows here than that, so the talent pool gets spread very thin, and the skill level hasn’t caught up yet.”

Executive producers want local workers partly because it can reduce the bottom line. And they want to shoot in Atlanta because the state has made it attractive to do so.

Here are five jobs the Atlanta TV and film industry is desperate to fill – and how much you could make doing them.

1. Line Producers/Associate Producers

Bob Judson, a professor of television production at Savannah College of Art and Design, says producers are in demand..."

If they are so desperate to fill them, why does a local search on Indeed.com for "associate producer" yield zero returns for the film business?

Maybe if they learned how to recruit better, they wouldn't have so many problems filling the jobs. How does one connect with these people who are supposedly so desperate to hire?

Wow, one whole producer position posted in the past 6 weeks (excluding those from Turner Broadcasting, which has been here for over 30 years).

I see there is a true supply crisis to fill all these jobs.

Yep, seems like mindless clickbait.

A similar search for associate producer in Los Angeles has 100+ jobs listed. What a crisis!!!?

FROM THE STORY ...

Executive producers ... generally come from California and are responsible for any productionís fiduciary needs, meaning they find the funding. Line and associate producers are charged with making sure the production stays on budget.

Judson says line producers can earn as much as $600 to $800 per day, depending on the budget and the length of the production. Associate producers can earn as much as $50 to $600 per day, depending on other factors, including membership in the producerís guild.

Exactly.

Nobody is expecting Executive Producers to be procured from Atlanta.

But if they are so desperate for associate producers and line producers, as the article indicates, why aren't they doing anything to try to recruit them? All I've seen is links to a coupe of terrible listings.

I call BS on film industry. Where are the local jobs? For people other than electricians and security people, I mean.

Not all industries use big sites like indeed. People in the film industry know where to look. Unfortunately the talent pool isn't here and that's why there is a gap.
