I am curious if there's ever been a gathering of all the personalities we see here in the Atlanta City-Data forum. I imagine it would be so interesting to actually match faces and voices with the behind-the-screen personas we witness on here.

Not that I can recall,

I know other area on C-D area forums have done them with varying degrees of success, from Just the host showing up, to ~10 or so for a meeting in the backroom or table in some restaurant.

There was talk of an Atlanta C-D gathering a few (maybe several) years ago.

This was during the "golden era."

HAHA "golden era." I've actually had the same thought but mine was more geared towards people on the forum I think I'd actually get along with. It would be very interesting. Sometimes I try to paint a picture of the people on the forum.

I have three from this forum that have jumped to the next cyber level and are now Facebook friends. Does that count?

To the first, that's wonderful you've met people on here and felt comfortable enough to add them to your facebook.

As for the second, I wish I could hear some details. It already sounds like an interesting story.

We probably have the most strange group of people on CD. I've never seen so many off topic threads. But we also have a strong connection and love for our city, but I still wouldn't want to meet up with some of these CD trolls. Others are fine.

It would be cool to know what others look like.
