MARTA? In Cobb?

That looks sooooo much better! Hard to expect them to do much more other than keeping the water feature and encouraging MARTA.

This should be great for the region as a whole and will hopefully placate some of the Cobb critics.

So they announced the lead architect is the same as who developed Atlantic Station. So it begs the question, would it be feasible to hide the parking lots under the stadium and surrounding area? I always liked that aspect of the Atlantic Station design.

is all of this under construction right now, including the midrises? these don't look half bad for a chance.

Grading and site clearing has been underway since last June. They had to relocate a petroleum pipeline so that took some time. Actual construction of the ballpark and the 1st phase of the mixed use development is supposed to begin in February of next year. The ballpark and first phase are supposed to be completed in time for the 2017 baseball season. Not sure if the office highrise and hotel are a part of the first or second phase. But someone on another forum said that that Office Highrise would not be completed until late 2017 as part of second phase. Everything is supposed to be built by end of 2017.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said in a Facebook AJC comment.

It sure would solve a few problems regarding logistics and traffic.. to an extent. Even for those not going to the stadium.

MARTA goes to Cumberland Mall so MARTA to the stadium is conceivable. If not then CCT.

Yeah, I thought about how cool would it be if a MARTA line would weave in and out of Cumberland, underground and above ground like the Perimeter Center stops.
