My family (small child and spouse) are looking to move to Conyers very soon. I work in downtown Atlanta and he is looking to find work around the Conyers area, and eventually going back to school once we are settled. We have looked at a few apartments in what seems like a nice area off Sigman Road (about 2 miles from the exit) and the area looks nice, but I've not spent as much time in Conyers as I have in other areas around Atlanta. I grew up along the 400 corridor, between Northridge Road and Roswell Road, and off to college a couple of hours away from the city. I've never lived East Side before, any info to consider?

You can do plenty better. Expect a horrendous commute with no real transit options, believe me, I spent a month commuting from Conyers to Downtown every day and even using the Xpress bus it was a nightmare so I left as fast as I could. The specific area you describe can be hit or miss, 2 miles from Sigman puts you either in very bad areas, or pretty nice areas. The school system isn't great, not the worst, but not exactly a shining example if that's important to you.
