Yeah, Gets away with 4 murders in other places around the city but try to jump a fare gate at MARTA and get taken down.

I'm confused, is your point that if MARTA expands into Cobb, it will bring Cobb's criminals into the city of Atlanta? That's my impression based on the links you provided.

Anyone else notice Caleb Longstreet has yet to come back to explain the "astounding" pattern of assault and murder supposedly plaguing our transit system?

I think he went to ask Tim Lee about it.

Yeah....it must just be me....that must explain the overwhelming adoption of marta through the years and the creation of CCT and Gwinnett County Transit.....yeah, I guess those 1.5 million folks were/are all wrong.

You are taking a snapshot of it....take a look at just the last 5 years....I don't think everyone suddenly stopped committing crime. Last time I checked, violent assaults were a pretty bad thing too or, are they okay in your book?

The crime rates in the areas getting the most new apartments have gone down over the years. Buckhead, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, have all seen crime rates drop over the years.

Also, the perception, and therefore, the users of transit, have changed a lot over the years. Crime rate changes in response to transit system growth from ten or fifteen years ago can not accurately predict what will happen if transit is expanded today.

The same demographic shift, towards a more financially stable group, is occurring in the rental market.

Any references from days long gone are irrelevant to the discussion of the current market.
