That never would have crossed my mind, but it does sound interesting. If they sell it by the slice, I may just indulge myself in private.

I suggest that if you have an Ingles nearby, you stop in and see if they offer it in their deli & try a sample. If you like it, then the next step is to see if they can bake a complete, full-sized cake for you.
I saw an Ingles, but I cannot remember where. I'll look into it based on your saying it is the best you have had in years.

Thanks for the help AtlJan, and I agree with all three of you.

Ingles grocery stores are pretty far-flung as there seem to be no locations inside the I-285 Perimeter.

The closest Ingles grocery stores to the I-285 Perimeter seem to be either in the Peachtree Corners/Norcross and Lilburn areas of Gwinnett County or in Ellenwood in Northern Henry County.

There's also 2 Ingles locations in Douglasville and surprisingly the Ingles location in Stone Mountain is still open (which is probably the Ingles that is closest to the I-285 Perimeter....there was another Ingles on the Gwinnett County side of Stone Mountain that closed about the better part of a decade ago). Outside of those stores in Peachtree Corners, Lilburn, Ellenwood, Douglasville and Stone Mountain, most Ingles locations are somewhat far removed from the I-285 Perimeter if you are centrally located.

Here's a link to a page where you find your closest Ingles grocery location:
