found some nose bleeds for the Wed game. IMO being the #1 seed no excuse having a close first round if you plan on winning an overall title.

Cool. Have fun.

Don't forget, the Spurs nearly lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first round last year as a No. 1 seed, and we all know what happened after that.

We (as an 8 seed) took the #1 Pacers to 7 games last year. It happens.

5 out of the last 9 NBA champions lost at least 2 games in the first round. Let's stop acting like what's happening to the Hawks never happened to winners before.

Heck, like Gulch said, this time last year we were the 8th seed taking the 1st seed to 7 games in the first round. That 1st seeded team (the Pacers) ended up in the Eastern Conference Finals. Also at the same time the Spurs barely got by Dallas in the first round and ended up winning the Finals.

Yes it would be disappointing, but no one here thinks that Atlanta is the worst city for sports. That's some media trash - and who cares what someone else thinks? Atlanta isn't nearly as dismal in that respect as some other cities. Whatever the climate of sports in my city I'm a fan of the teams here and I don't accept anyone from the outside saying that this city is the worst. That's just a nonsense opinion someone came up with to get some attention.
Spot on, Joe.

Just to add to it, I remember a 2008 37-45, 8 seed that took the 1 seed Boston Celtics to Game 7. That Celtics team went on to win the championship. Anyone recall that team's name?

Anyone who knows anything about sports would disagree. If that's the case then only one team in each sport has a stellar year each year. That's ridiculous.

Tell it to the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team.

Depends on what your goal is. Mine is a championship.

Every team's goal is a championship when the season begins, but the fact is that only one team will reach that goal. That doesn't invalidate every other team's season. Many teams in many sports have a great season and sometimes go undefeated by don't will a championship. That's the way it works in sports.

Which team do you play for?
