I believe the grocery store would be at the base of the tower.

Don't think they have posted any thing on that yet. Just they they plan to close the middle of next year and start construction mid-2016. So I would guess we won't start seeing plans until later next year.

Durnit. I'm incredibly eager to see them.

i just wanted to point out something. you know the plaza across from the five points MARTA station?

know what used to be there?

that's looking northeast from the intersection of alabama and peachtree. there is absolutely no reason that the useless plaza should remain when the property has so much potential for redevelopment.

I'd bet that's where the tower would be going. There aren't a ton of places to put it without tearing something down.

I would love for that plaza to be redeveloped. But I think shallow MARTA rail lines are under that plaza. Building on top of it would present challenges.

There's also that completely useless block just east of that between Wall and Alabama from Pryor to Central they could build on.

they run alongside the rail lines, which were there when the postcard above was made. the south half of that block could be redeveloped relatively easily, but the north half would have to remain a plaza, or something else.

It's like a game of bingo. You just wait until a thread degrades into an argument over guns, Obama, taxes, ITP/OTP, whatever. And then you yell "BINGO!"
