I haven't noticed any difference, but some folks in my neighborhood have had them installed right in front of their houses and absolutely hate them. They say the brightness of the lights makes it impossible for them to enjoy their front porches at night.

That's not the reason for the new lights. From what I understand, GP will come out and install a light diverter if the light is overly bright. If it was all about safety, they'd tell you to suck it up.

GA Power has been switching them out in Inman Park. The first night I looked out the front door and I thought someone was driving down the street because the light was so bright and "clean" looking. I think they are great since they not only save energy, last longer but illuminates the area better.

They've installed these on the street I grew up on. Great to see so much light!
