Those people asking for money at intersections aren't legit. I saw several last week at this busy intersection and several police cars near them pulled someone over. Those people asking for money scattered like roaches when you turn on the lights. No disrepect to them but they didn't look like upstanding citizens. Another sign that they aren't legit is if they keep looking around like they are looking for the police.

I wish they would not let anyone ask for money at an intersection, no matter if it's legit or not. It's not safe.

I never give money to random people. Panhandlers on the sidewalk or in the streets. I don't have that much money right now anyway and I don't trust random people. I'll donate online or at stores to actual charities instead.

Do not give money to panhandlers. Many panhandlers are not homeless and are seeking drug money. Giving money to panhandlers allows them to continue destructive habits.

True, such actions are potentially unsafe for either side.

Isn't panhandling kind of illegal anyway, like if you're 15 feet from a business? Maybe that's another reason they were scattering.

I've never really seen a panhandler who didn't look like a drug user so I doubt it.

My issue with them is, many that I see are my age and look fully able bodied enough to work. I especially hate the ones that have kids out there exploiting them.
