I've always been fascinated by waterfront property, but there's not very much on the Chattahoochee at all, I imagine because of mandatory easements.

I know of a few houses here and there in St. Ives that back up to the river, and today I was on Akers Mill Road and saw a community called Chattahoochee Chase that had townhomes that backed up directly to the river. No easement, no trees blocking the view, just townhomes right on the river.

I'd like to know about all the real estate in Atlanta that is directly on the river, with full river views.

If you know of any property that fits this description, leave it here.

There are a lot of homes along the river. The westside of Buckhead, Vinings, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody. I feel like I am missing something. When I look at homes on the river online, I don't often see anything blocking the views.

Agreed.

All those homes in Vinings/West Buckhead that flooded a few years back? Near Canoe?

The views can be nice--I'm thinking of Winterthur and the like--but I've wondered how many people actually canoe/kayak from these properties? The Chattahoochee is so big that it kind of seems more of a hazard to have in the backyard than an asset. The houses we have looked at had steep drop-offs to the water--and the water looks like it moves pretty fast. Maybe I am a wimp and other people use the heck out of the river?

There is a gravel road in Roswell called that I believe is called Old Riverside that has some nice homes. Kayaking from there to inside the perimeter will show you some nice homes, most of them farther south on the trip.

There is a development called something along the lines of Riverside Landing coming to Smyrna. Last I heard it sounded like it would be a somewhat walkable mixed use on the river. I'm sure you-know-who could tell us more.
