They are dumping salary for prospects so that they will have money to spend and young players ready for 2017. Smart long term move IMO.

Actually, it's the opposite. They could have tried to keep treading water and had a very mediocre team for years to come. Or they could try to rebuild the franchise and restock the farm system (which has been terribly depleted the past 5 years) in an effort to put a great product on the field in 2017 and beyond.

Also, they are still the Atlanta Braves. (Unless you also want to change the name of the other 10 professional teams who play outside the city limits of their namesake.)

I like the Upton trade. Good return for one year of Upton. I still don't like the Heyward trade, because he is so young and his skills are undervalued in the market. I would have tried much harder to sign him long term. I still hope they can deal Gattis, because I've been convinced he has more value in trade than he would in left field. Market may be proving me wrong on that, I don't know.

I hope these new Atlanta Braves become stars and the team is a legitimate contender by the time the new stadium opens.

Cobb is not Atlanta. And they seem quite happy about that. Don't think anywhere else in the world has the same anti-Atlanta attitude.

That is not the case in Arlington. That is why they are the Dallas Cowboys but Cobb still has the Cobb Braves.
